Arch Linux 2008.6 Core

Arch Linux is a fast, lightweight Linux distribution that tries to Keep it Simple. It is not targeted for people new to Linux. It is best suited for intermediate Linux users, who are comfortable using the command line interface.

This CD includes the base system, which can help you build up your system ground up instead of removing things you don't want. It is based on a "rolling release" system, so there are no actual releases. You just upgrade your system, and you are already running the latest "release". It includes an easy to use package manager called Pacman, which can install, remove and upgrade software on your system.

With Arch Linux, you are free to install whatever you want. KDE, Gnome, Xfce or one of the many window managers out there. You have complete control over your system.
